South Texas Educational Scholarship Fund

The scholarship landscape remains unequal. While women often receive more grants, they frequently receive less funding per grant. Conversely, men benefit from larger overall athletic funding, despite both genders facing unique challenges in securing financial aid.

There is a significant need for female-focused scholarships to address persistent gender gaps in pay and representation, particularly in STEM and leadership roles. Despite higher college enrollment rates, women often earn less than men after graduation. Providing targeted scholarships helps reduce student debt and lessens the long-term financial burden on female students.

Part of the mission of the South Texas Educational Scholarship Fund is to provide scholarships to the young women who enter the Miss San Antonio Scholarship Pageant. Beyond the title, participating in the Miss San Antonio Scholarship Pageant offers significant benefits, including direct financial aid, public speaking opportunities, and leadership development. Participants also gain valuable experience in networking and community service.

As a nonprofit, the South Texas Educational Scholarship Fund works year-round to secure scholarships for the young women who enter the Miss San Antonio Scholarship Pageant. All funds raised are paid directly to the recipient’s enrolled college or university.
